My Bio
My bio in brief is posted in my profile, but I believe that I could write some more lines about me here in the first entry of this blog.
So, I am Russian, female, age group 31-40, living in Moscow, Russia.
This journal is set up to help me communicate with friends and pen pals, old as well as new ones. I also hope that this journal will help my lost friends identify me if they come across this page, and this will get us in touch again.
I am not extremely active online, I do not lauch Skype and ICQ every single day, but here in my journal I am planning to write on a permanent basis, at least twice a month or so. Also, Picasa looks like a good place for my photo gallery, and I think I will be using this option too.
By occupation I am a music teacher, working part-time and freelance. I enjoy my work. I teach adults as well as kids, and once I even had two generations of students coming from the same family. My approach is to help my students enjoy the instrument. To make them virtuosi is not my primary target (and neither is theirs). I think the goal is to help them appreciate music and have fun with it, and this approach gives best results.
Now about my language skills. I started studying English at school, and soon after I graduated from the college, I took the opportunity to study other languages as well in my leisure time. Actually I enjoy learning, and languages are one of my passions. I am able to communicate (more or less fluently) in French, German and Italian, and I welcome people who speak or study these languages. Let us learn each other by correspondence and, hopefully, by meeting in person one day. ...Pen pals from Scandinavia are welcome too!
I am Taurus by sign and I celebrate my B-Day on May Day. May 1 is the first day of summer, or at least it was counted as the beginning of summer in many pre-Christian European pagan cultures. So I consider myself having mainly sunny spirits, maybe with some short rainfalls sometimes :) but rains are good in summer.
I am divorced and I have no children. This means that I have a lot of time for myself and my hobbies and friends. ...I'm OK with that, and my divorce was not a disaster for me. My ex-husband is still my friend. Actually, we both realized one day that we'd rather become friends, not spouses. And we did that. ...And yes, I love children and I am family-oriented.
I have a wide range of hobbies, from travelling, cooking and bicycling to art, history and photography. As for music, it's not only my profession but also my passion, I dedicate more than a half of my leisure time to it. I love medieval and baroque music, I enjoy pop and rock music of the 70s. I usually do not listen to robotic music and all kinds of punk, that's just not my style. But in music, as well as in religion, I am quite tolerant. Sometimes I enjoy silence.
I often travel abroad. I have been to UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Baltic States. I have spent a holiday in Africa... but the travel topic is too big to be featured here right now. OK, I do believe it's enough for the 1st entry. More to be posted soon.
